I recently bought a 508 (from a supermarket) both my sight and hands have suffered neuro damage and needed a cheap simple unlocked backup phone for emergecies.
The Doro 508 fits the bill nicely.

While a selection of preset wallpapers exist, the default setting is a very readable high contrast white text on black. You can even increase the size of the text.
For those with dexterity issues, the keypad buttons are larger than most dumb phones, more akin to a decent sized cordless home phone. The buttons are also well spaced, ideal for those with reduced hand eye coordination.
Other nice touches for any dumb (as opposed to smart) phone. As I said previously 2 single press speed dial buttons, a torch on/off and another for sms. Another small but important feature is the backlight time is adjustable. It has support for bluetooth handsfree and finally there is a programmable emergency assist button on the back of the phone. The assist feature can be preprogrammed with 3 numbers to keep calling in turn until one is answered, sms can also be sent.
It is an easy to use phone and while ‘dumb’ whoever designed it wasnt. I get the impression a lot of thought has gone into this phone.

I would recommend anyone with sensory impairments

Bought this phone for my mum, needed a simple and easy to use phone. This phone was perfect not complicated, easy to see numbers and does what a 70 year old women wants it to do.

Speedy and safe delivery of basic mobile: uncomplicated, clear and suitable for those who enjoy the occasional text message or chat.
It has an alarm. a diary, an ‘ICE’ note area for medical information, a calculator, and an emergency button which dials your nominated ‘people to call in an emergency’ list. So it would be fairer to say it is uncomplicated with a sensible range of features should you need them!
If you prefer to spend your time enjoying the world around you, rather than the world as viewed by looking at your boots and talking to the world at large, this phone will please you. Yes, it can talk to the world if needed. The sound is clear, the battery lasts four to five days, it slips into the pocket easily – and can fall out almost as easily! It doesn’t take long to get to know; you can fall in love with it, but it doesn’t encourage or demand infatuation.
